More gorgeous line and wash, this time of sea and cliffs at watercolour class. Ink is the perfect medium for drawing craggy cliffs. These are works in progress so the students have a little bit of homework. They are looking lovely though, I think you’ll agree?
Recent painting of the amazing @cedarblack_ … I still may add a bit to this but sharing anyway! She will be modelling for our acrylic painting workshop based on this theme - Paint, Patterns and Plants on 18th August in Winchcombe. We will be painting an all day pose, with the lovely Callie surrounded by patterned fabric and my extensive houseplant collection! We can spend the day painting like Impressionists, capturing the colour, shape and pattern around the model.

We focused on drawing hands and feet for the first half of our life drawing session this week. Then we used what we had learned to draw them, and the rest of the model!

The secret to a good still life is making it look convincing and having variation of shape, colour and texture. Students were given the task of holiday themed items and drew them in pastels using bright paper to draw on.

Superb summery line and wash weekend workshop today ☀️
We learned how to compose and draw our landscape using lots of lovely mark making and then how to really bring it to life with colourful washes.
Such a great day with beautiful work from everyone - the time just flew by!

We were shown this critically endangered plant - red hemp nettle 🤩 which is thriving on the hill. How lucky are we?
A fantastic walk out with lovely people (I have no pics, I’ll let @cleeve_common do that). It’s so wonderful to be part of a collective that care so much about this beautiful place ❤️ 🏔️
