We drew hawthorn, blackthorn and rosehips at art classes yesterday in coloured pencils. Looking at using colour and studying the detail in our little autumnal sprigs up close. Now I know what a bract is (thanks Paul!). Gorgeous, delicate work 🍂

Lovely commission I got asked to do recently for a family who had sadly lost their housekeeper, Louana, who had been with them for several years.
The illustration was of the poem that was read out at her funeral and it was so lovely to illustrate. She was such a wonderful, kind person 😢

The image above is a line and wash painting of my hedgehog, Nancy. After finding her a little dehydrated and worse for wear this summer, I took her to The Vale Wildlife Hospital, and after their care she was returned to me with a male hedgehog in need of a home, Sid. They are coming for dinner every evening so hopefully they will find somewhere safe nearby to hibernate.

Crepuscular rays on @cleeve_common this morning. Also known as ‘God rays’, they are actually parallel, it’s just perspective that makes them look like they fan out. Magic ✨
A wonderful way to spend the day. We took our inspiration from the landscape to create some A4 prints. Carving is super relaxing and seeing the print after all of your hard work is so satisfying!
