One of the many reasons I love walking is that it gives me time to think, and I am always coming up with ideas.

Recently, I was bemoaning the fact that, being an outdoorsy person, I never wear dresses anymore or have a reason to get dressed up. I thought about how funny it would be to do a walk in a ball gown. Then I thought it would be *very* funny to do a long, famous, local walk—like the Cotswold Way, for instance.

And what if it was for charity? Which charity would be most fitting? @refugecharity , of course. The fact that the dresses might get torn and tattered along the way feels strangely apt...

I told my friend Wendy @ewethree about the idea, and it was an immediate case of, “When are we doing it then?” We are already known for our ridiculously long walks, so we are walking the 102 mile Cotswold Way next month in evening wear!

We will be looking suitably glamorous, and I’m going to be aiming for a variety of ridiculous looks: The Queen Mum, a floaty fairy with a tiara, and a sparkly, slinky, side-split dress with a feather boa.

We would LOVE your sponsorship if you can spare a few quid for a great charity that does valuable work to help survivors of domestic abuse.

And no, we aren’t walking it in high heels (I can’t walk in them anyway!). But we are doing it in seven days.
